The one and only: A CREED AVENTUS review!

Have you ever been looking for a fragrance, that is unique and let's you stand out of the mass?
A fragrance that express freshness, sweetness as well as masculinity?
Well, the answer is yes. There is a fragrance out there that fulfills all those criteria. It is a niche fragrance created by the house of CREED.
In 2010 the master perfumer Olivier Creed introduced a scent inspired by the life a historic emperor, who engaged in wars, peace and romance, always riding on horse to victory. It is a a perfume meant to symbolise the leader role of a man: Strength, power, vision and success.
The fragrance I'm talking about is no other than Aventus.

Like any other fragrances, Aventus has a drydown consisting of three parts that you can smell after application. These stages are called Top Notes, Middle Notes and Base Notes. As the names might tell the smell of a fragrance begins with the top notes and then slowly transcends through the middle notes down to the base.
In order give the wearer an enjoyable fragrance experience that doesn't smell monotone, all these stages typically have different ingredients.
Aventus' ingredients consists of:

Top Notes:

Blackcurrant
Italian Bergamot
French apples
Pineapple

Middle Notes:

Roses
Dry birch
Morrocan jasmin
Patchouli

Base Notes:

Musk
Oak moss
Ambergris
Vanilla

When I first smelled Aventus I was overwhelmed and shocked by the great and strong opening it had. Never had I ever smell anything like this before. Despite the strong start I mentioned, the fragrance wasn't offensive at all, the smell was very pleasant. It was very fruity and sweet, yet also very fresh opening and one could smell the pineapple immediately. The scent also had a bit of a subtle smokiness to it that blended very well without taking the freshness away.
After a little while the top notes began to dry down and the middle notes began to surface. A slight floral and woodsy hint became noticeable. As the other notes began to settle down hours later, it began to smell more musky and earthy. But the fruits were still noticeable. Aventus' smell was fantastic, despite all the notes contradicting each other on paper. The ingredients blended perfectly and were well balanced. That alone was reason enough for me to by the fragrance.

As for the sillage of this fragrance, one can smell Aventus immediately after application and it radiates a strong aura that is also noticeable for other people without being too offensive. And because the fragrance is so strong, I usually only need to use 2 sprays to get through the day. But depending on my occasion I want to attend I apply up to 4 sprays. Aventus is also one of the CREED's best perfumes regarding its longevity. I can easily get 6-10 hours out of it. When I leave the house for work or university and walk by some people, they can smell Aventus and many have asked me already, what I was wearing. Some of them didn't even know me.

The only downsides that Aventus has are its price and its inconsistencies of the smell regarding the batch it was produced. The 2.5 OZ bottle goes for around for 275$ and the 4.0 OZ bottle goes for 330$. It is pretty expensive for a fragrance, but one must know that CREED is a niche perfume house that uses a small factory produce fragrances. Therefore the perfumes are produced in a much smaller scale than the one's of a designer house. And because the scale is so small, Aventus needs to be created in yearly to keep up with the demand.
Compared to other houses CREED tires to use as many natural products as it can and tries to stay away from synthetic chemicals in order give the wearer the best natural fragrance experience. For every production batch the house needs to buy new ingredients.
As they need to buy new ingredients every year, it is not possible for them to control the quality of products, even though they always buy the best ingredients available. What I mean by quality is that the crop can't always stay the same every year, since they are affected by the soil, weather and other circumstances. Altough CREED's formula stays the same, all those small factors will result in a difference of smell between the different batches. One batch might smell more smokey with a less fruity accent, while other batches might burst with 'fruityness'.
The initial smell, that Aventus is trying to project still stays the same.
But let us not talk bad about the fragrance anymore. One thing I nearly forgot the mention is the occasion. Aventus is a fragrance, that was released in the summer of 2010. It is a fresh fragrance, that was also given a dark and mysterious attribute with the smokiness. To be completely honest, I don't know where to categorise this fragrance, whether it's for summer, spring, fall or winter, work, university, weddings, clubs, or visiting relatives, you can use Aventus every time on every occasion.
That's how versatile the fragrance is.

Creed Aventus 75ml/ 2.5OZ
Creed Aventus 120ml/ 4.0OZ

So, if you are looking for a fragrance, that surpasses most other fragrances you might have ever smelled and on top of that being long lasting, unique and versatile, I can only recommend you to try Creed's Aventus. It really is a great creation of the CREED.
But before you are buying this fragrance blindly, you should try to buy a sample size, just to make sure that you like Aventus.

Thank you very much for reading my review!
I hope you enjoyed it
